What You’ll Need:

  • Pancake batter, prepared according to directions

  • 12 slices of bacon

  • Squeeze bottle (optional)

  • Maple syrup or other dipping sauces

ingredients

Directions:

  1. Cook bacon until desired doneness and set aside. Crispier bacon works a bit better for this recipe as it will soften when cooked in batter.

  2. Prepare pancake batter according to instructions. Be sure to read ahead of time to ensure you bring along the proper ingredients.

  3. Pour your batter into a squeeze bottle (optional). This is not required, but it will make it a bit easier to control batter placement.

  4. Get your griddle hot (about 300 degrees if using a camp stove or electric griddle). Use non-stick spray or coat your pan with butter if the pan requires it.

  5. Drizzle batter onto your griddle in long ovals, just a bit bigger than the slices of bacon.

  6. Place a slice of bacon in the center of each oval, and lightly press to stick it in the batter.

  7. Drizzle a small amount of more batter over the bacon to prevent it from cooking further once turned over.

  8. When batter starts to bubble up, flip the dippers over and cook an additional few minutes.

  9. Remove from griddle, and serve with small cups of maple syrup or sauces of choice.

  10. Enjoy!
